  ABOUT THE DFW Family Expo

OVERVIEW:
The DFW Family Expo is a celebration of the best products, services and entertainment for families. This true community event – benefitting Children’s Medical Center - offers unmatched face-to-face interaction between family product and service providers and thousands of moms, dads, expectant parents, grandparents and kids from a twelve-county area.

The DFW Family Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 13, 2010, at Centennial Hall in Fair Park, Dallas, Texas. The Expo will include sections for Pregnancy & Infancy, Parties & Entertainment, Classes & Camps, Home & Family Resources, Green Living, Marketplace and an on-site resale and consignment sale. Entertainment at the Expo is included with admission and features bounce houses, face painters, rock climbing wall, trackless train, clowns, performances by characters from The Wiggles, a children's concert by Dano Parr, and more. Tickets are $3/adult and $2/child 2-12.

ATTENDANCE:
More than 10,000 are expected to attend the DFW Family Expo. The DFW Family Expo will welcome expectant families as well as families with children of all ages, although it is expected that most children will be between the ages of 0-12.

EXHIBITING: Exhibitors include international children's gear manufacturers, national and local service providers and local retailers with products and/or services for families. About Metroplex Baby & Kids

Co-founders Barbara & TinaMetroplex Baby & Kids founders and sisters, Barbara Arnondin and Tina Wysk grew up in Dallas-Fort Worth. Once they became moms, the Metroplex became a large unknown. They spent hours flipping through the phone book and searching the internet for the best baby products and deals, as well as for activities for their kids. They did not find any of the available directories useful, as they list only paid advertisers instead of giving the "full scoop." After constantly remarking "why isn't there a web site that lists all this information," they decided to start Metroplex Baby & Kids. Barb used the experience she gained from having owned and operated her own business, and Tina employed the skills she had attained from a 10 year career working in Dallas and New York City for Fortune 500 companies. They launched MetroplexBaby.com in 2005 and it quickly became the favorite centralized resource for parents in Dallas-Fort Worth, with a current newsletter readership of over 12,000 parents.

Metroplex Baby & Kids specializes in event planning and promotion. Through its unique MetroMoms Events Program, Metroplex Baby & Kids produces and hosts an average of 5-6 events per month, ranging from exclusive events with national experts, to large expos. Metroplex Baby & Kids has been retained to produce dedicated events for Cookie Magazine, Staples, bugaboo, Silver Cross, Stride Rite, Born Free, Safety 1st, phil&teds and several other leaders in the juvenile industry.

Metroplex Baby & Kids was the exclusive DFW promoter for the Dallas American Baby Faire, Everything Babyfest and Free Baby Expo.
